From industrially produced chicken meat to the consumption of imported foods, everyday food practices in Bolivia and elsewhere are embedded in a historically developed context of social inequalities. The author argues that judgments of taste reproduce and negotiate material and symbolic inequalities in place since colonial times. Sarah Kollnig has a background in Environmental Studies and has lived and worked in both Bolivia and Europe since 2010.
